stephanie portraitStephenie Meyer was born on December 24, 1973 in Connecticut, but by the time she was four, her and her family had settled in Phoenix, Arizona. She is the second of three girls in her family; she has an older sister named Emily, and a younger sister named Heidi. She also has three brothers, Paul, Jacob, and Seth; all of them are younger than all the girls in her family. Her unusually spelled first name is a gift from her father, Stephen Morgan Meyer. Her mother’s name is Candy.    She went to high school in Scottsdale, Arizona, and won a National Merit Scholarship, which she used to pay her way into Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah. There, she majored in English, but concentrated on literature rather than creative writing. She has known her husband, Pancho (his real name is Christiaan), since she was four years old, but even though they saw each other at least weekly through church activities, it took sixteen years from their first meeting until they actually had real conversations and got to know each other better. Nine months later, they were married, and currently have three sons, Gabe, Seth, and Eli. Stephenie Meyer is the author of Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse and the soon-to-be fourth book in the series, Breaking Dawn. She is currently working on Midnight Sun, which will be Twilight from the perspective of Edward Cullen. Another one of her books is The Host, which is not a book included in the Twilight series. She is also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormon, as they are commonly called, and that has a huge influence on who she is and her perspective on the world, and therefore what she writes.
